Terms of Service

When you create an account with us, you must provide accurate, complete, and current information. Failure to do so constitutes a breach of the Terms, which may result in immediate termination of your account.

You are responsible for safeguarding the password you use to access the Service and for any activities or actions under your password. We encourage you to use a strong password (a combination of upper and lower case letters, numbers, and symbols) for your account.

You agree not to disclose your password to any third party. You must notify us immediately upon becoming aware of any breach of security or unauthorized use of your account.

Markdown Town offers both free and premium services:

Free Tier

• Access to basic visualization components
• Maximum of 3 saved assets
• Shared links remain functional for 7 days
• Markdown Town branding appears on shared visualizations

Premium Tier

• Access to all visualization components, including premium-only components
• Unlimited asset storage
• Persistent links as long as subscription is active
• Branding-free shared visualizations
• Priority customer support

We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service, temporarily or permanently, with or without notice. We will not be liable to you or any third party for any modification, suspension, or discontinuance of the Service.

By subscribing to our premium service, you agree to the following terms:

• Subscription fees are charged at the beginning of each billing period (weekly, monthly, or yearly).
• Subscriptions automatically renew unless canceled before the renewal date.
• You may cancel your subscription at any time through your account settings or by contacting us.
• No refunds or credits will be provided for partial subscription periods or unused services.
• We may change subscription fees with 30 days' notice. If you continue to use the Service after the fee change, you will be charged the new fee.
• If payment fails, we may retry the charge or suspend your account until payment is successful.

After subscription cancellation, your account will revert to the free tier, and:

• You will lose access to premium components
• Your assets will be archived for 30 days before being deleted if they exceed the free tier limits
• Shared premium visualizations will continue to display for 7 days after cancellation

Our Intellectual Property

The Service and its original content, features, and functionality are and will remain the exclusive property of Markdown Town and its licensors. The Service is protected by copyright, trademark, and other laws of both the United States and foreign countries. Our trademarks and trade dress may not be used in connection with any product or service without our prior written consent.

Your Content

By using our Service and creating visualizations:

• You retain all rights to the Markdown content you create using our Service.
• You grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to use, store, and display your content solely for the purpose of providing the Service to you.
• You are responsible for ensuring you have the right to use any content you input into our Service.

You agree not to use the Service:

• In any way that violates any applicable federal, state, local, or international law or regulation.
• To transmit or procure the sending of any advertising or promotional material without our prior written consent, including any "junk mail," "chain letter," "spam," or any other similar solicitation.
• To impersonate or attempt to impersonate the Company, a Company employee, another user, or any other person or entity.
• To engage in any conduct that restricts or inhibits anyone's use or enjoyment of the Service, or which may harm the Company or users of the Service.
• To attempt to gain unauthorized access to, interfere with, damage, or disrupt any parts of the Service, the server on which the Service is stored, or any server, computer, or database connected to the Service.
• To attack the Service via a denial-of-service attack or a distributed denial-of-service attack.
• To use the Service to store or transmit harmful code, such as viruses, worms, or trojans.
• To use the Service to generate visualizations containing illegal, offensive, or harmful content.

In no event shall Markdown Town, its directors, employees, partners, agents, suppliers, or affiliates be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including without limitation, loss of profits, data, use, goodwill, or other intangible losses, resulting from:

• Your access to or use of or inability to access or use the Service;
• Any conduct or content of any third party on the Service;
• Any content obtained from the Service; and
• Unauthorized access, use, or alteration of your transmissions or content;

Whether based on warranty, contract, tort (including negligence), or any other legal theory, and whether or not we have been informed of the possibility of such damage.

Your use of the Service is at your sole risk. The Service is provided on an "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" basis. The Service is provided without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including, but not limited to, implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, or course of performance.

Markdown Town, its subsidiaries, affiliates, and licensors do not warrant that:

• The Service will function uninterrupted, secure, or available at any particular time or location;
• Any errors or defects will be corrected;
• The Service is free of viruses or other harmful components; or
• The results of using the Service will meet your requirements.

These Terms shall be governed and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of California, United States, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.

Our failure to enforce any right or provision of these Terms will not be considered a waiver of those rights. If any provision of these Terms is held to be invalid or unenforceable by a court, the remaining provisions of these Terms will remain in effect.

We reserve the right, at our sole discretion, to modify or replace these Terms at any time. If a revision is material, we will try to provide at least 30 days' notice prior to any new terms taking effect. What constitutes a material change will be determined at our sole discretion.

By continuing to access or use our Service after those revisions become effective, you agree to be bound by the revised terms. If you do not agree to the new terms, please stop using the Service.
